What is it? 

Ultrasound is an acoustic vibration generated at a frequency higher than the audible limit of di 20 KHz.
This means ultrasounds are just like normal sounds, but because of the higher frequency they cannot be detected by the human ear. Humans are able to hear frequencies between 30 Hz and 20 KHz. Certain animals on the other hand, like dogs and dolphins, are more sensitive to high frequencies and therefore able to pick up these sound waves, in some cases using them to send and receive messages.

How is it used?

Ultrasound Is widely used in medicine (diagnostics, scanning, sterilization of surgical instruments), also in dentistry, in physiotherapy, and in beauty centres for treating cellulite.

WHAT CAUSES IT? 

Cellulite is attributable generally to a slowing of the blood and lymph circulation in subcutaneous tissue. The effect of this slower circulation is to cause malnutrition in adipose tissue, as the waste products of metabolic activity are not eliminated and the cells tend to cluster. This results in the formation of nodules, tiny at first but gradually becoming bigger and bigger, which ultimately imprison lymphatic and blood vessels, slowing down microcirculation in the skin. The surface of the skin then takes on the orange-peel appearance characteristic of cellulite.

WHAT DOES ULTRASOUND DO? 

Ultrasound treatment improves the circulation, blood and lymphatic alike, stimulating nutrition of the cells so that waste products can be reabsorbed and then eliminated naturally by the organism.

the ultrasounds are emitted in pulsed mode during this treatment, massaging the cells, stimulating them into action and causing them to shift alternately toward and away from one another. AFTERSPORT MASSAGE:
the ultrasounds are emitted continuously for the entire duration of the treatment, generating an anti-inflammatory massage designed to loosen up and ease contracted muscles.

this is another ultrasound massage delivered in pulsed mode; the resulting micrometric movements of the cells produce a relaxing effect.

TONING MASSAGE:
in this type of treatment the ultrasounds are emitted first with increasing intensity then with diminishing intensity. The effect is to restore tone and energy and revitalize the cell metabolism. The recommended duration of each treatment is 15 to 20 minutes.
